When I first heard the heartbeat of Hot Club of France, I knew I had found my music.
Michael-Paul performs jazz for people who are inspired by mixing traditional and contemporary ideas. Inviting people to listen with their hearts and with their feet, he believes that music should bring people together and through the music share all lived truths through power of rhythm. With a tradition based on the emotional depths of French chanson to the mid-century magic of hard-bop, Michael mixes several styles into his brand of Jazz Manouche.

About Michael-Paul
Over ten years, Michael-Paul has been exploring the world of acoustic jazz. Living in the Pacific Northwest, he has been touched by several of the established groups from around the Seattle region., identifying this sound as Manocuhe N.W. He had adopted the language of Manouche Jazz with a heavy west coast influence that incorporates the cosmopolitan eclecticism for which the region is known.
In addition to playing and singing, Michael-Paul has been conducting bands and choirs and composing for large and small ensembles. He is also known for his work in the Bellingham community teaching vocal jazz.
Michael now resides in Montréal, Quebec. He continues to explore Jazz Manouche and to make music with amazing people!

Pure Imagination
This is the debut album by Nuages. Inside are the beginnings of an idea that blossomed into a vision. This album’s post modern approach blends mainstream mid-century jazz with Manouche jazz.
Oblivion
A relaxing selection of songs inspired by absinthe fueled wandering through sound and lights. Each song is like passing by an open door in the most cosmopolitan of cities in the 1930s.
Neuf
The third album, in the Nuages collection of albums, Neuf is a collection of jazz and world music all in one. This album features both standards and new music.
Fork in the Toaster
An eclectic melange of jazz made by friends; Nuages was inspired to bring out each member’s musical roots and inspirations. In this album the band blends modern jazz, traditional folk, Manouche jazz, and blue grass. Included are several originals. This is not just an album but a journey.
